Possibility that more tourists will come

Despite the economic crisis occurring worldwide, the tourism sector could grow in Costa Rica at the end of 2008.
The president of the National Chamber of Tourism (Canatour by its initials in Spanish), Gonzalo Vargas, said that growth is expected to be between 8% and 9% which is very satisfactory.
Vargas also said that tourism is growing in the world at an average of 2%, so that Costa Rica’s above-average growth is an indicator of the opportunities that we have.
The economic crisis may also be a plus for us because Americans could be inclined not to go to faraway-places where spending would be higher and look for closer destinations like Costa Rica.
This is why offers have been launched for local tourists, as well as holding tourist fairs in Manuel Antonio national park, and the budget for advertising abroad was strengthened looking to attract the greatest number of visitors.
At TicosLand.com, we hope that Costa Rica achieves this goal because it means the ability to create jobs or retain existing ones and react to situations as difficult as the current ones. You cannot let opportunities like this pass you by.
