Maria Jose is Still Alive in Latin American Idol

Costa Rica’s own Maria Jose Castillo was able to avoid the chopping block for another week, despite the critiques from the usual panel of judges, Mimi, Jon Secada and Gustavo Sanchez. The judges continue to praise Maria Jose for always being in tune with the song and having spotless voice technique. However, they have told her that her stage presence leaves much to be desired.
On the other hand, she is in the final seven, having survived another round of voting by Latin American Idol fans in Costa Rica and around the world. She sang the song “A Puro Dolor” by the now defunct Son by Four, and the viewing public enjoyed it enough to leave her around for another week.
There were technical problems with the Sony channel on the eve of the show. The program signal was out for about thirty minutes. However, Manuel Mendez, Amnet manager said that it was due to external problems, and not a problem with the cable providers. The problem was generated by the channel itself.
