Perez Zeledón will receive 345 groups

Posted 10-07-2008 at 10:16 AM by marcob
As part of the National Festival of the Arts Brunca Region 2009, Perez Zeledón, in southern Costa Rica, will receive actors, dancers, musicians, circus troupes and all kinds of groups involved in producing shows.

The event will be from March 27 to April 4. The number of expected attendees was confirmed by Marianella Protti, producer of the festival.

The troupes will be divided into two: the formal ones, which will be presented in theaters and auditoriums and the outdoor presentations, which will be in the Boulevard of the Arts. This year, Costa Rica is expecting between 35 and 45 formal groups and about 300 troupes for outdoor entertainment.
The call was launched on September 29, and it will have two deadlines for a draft to be submitted. The first will be October 31 for theater, dance and music, and November 30 for the troupes that will include boulevard programming.
What is being sought is for the greatest amount of troupes to participate and not just from San Jose, but from throughout Costa Rica. High quality companies are also being sought, no matter their trajectory, but with very good offerings.
Another factor that is helping is the fact that all the inhabitants of Perez Zeledón identify highly with art and participate actively in this preparation. There will also be a Caravan of the Arts, which takes place on a day when the spectacles are taken to the communities furthest away from downtown Perez Zeledón.

So, friends of TicosLand.com, if you are part of a troupe such those mentioned above or you know of people who have groups with the features that are requested, tell them to join this initiative and, well, you should also go and enjoy everything that the festival has to offer. Take advantage of things and make a great trip out of it.
