Failure in the ICE databases causes problem with payments
Posted 08-08-2008 at 03:05 PM by marcob
Cellular and fixed telephone services continue to be suspended since yesterday because of a failure in the database which created problems with the billing system, so that people are only able to make payments in the agencies of the Costa Rican Electricity Institute (ICE by its initials in Spanish).
However, none of the external collectors has a connection with the ICE so that consumers can make their payments. Although an ICE spokesman, Elberth Duran said that the problem has already been resolved, banks, supermarkets and other collectors will have to wait until the system is up and working altogether.
For users whose payments were overdue as of yesterday, there will not be any late charges, said Duran.
